FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS?
Here, we’ve gathered answers to the most common questions to help make your travel planning as smooth as possible.
Balabac is a remote island municipality located at the southernmost tip of Palawan, Philippines, near the border of Sabah, Malaysia. It is about 6–7 hours by land and sea travel from Puerto Princesa City, the capital of Palawan.
Known as Palawan’s “last frontier of paradise,” Balabac is made up of 31 islands and islets blessed with powdery white sand beaches, crystal-clear waters, rich marine life, and some of the most beautiful sandbars in the Philippines.
From Puerto Princesa, it’s best to leave around 2:30 AM to reach Buliluyan Port by 7:30–8:30 AM. From the port, you can board a ferry or boat transfer heading to Balabac or directly to Patawan Island—just make sure to inform the crew of your exact destination.
For your convenience, we also provide a connecting trip service:
✔️ Van pick-up from your accommodation in Puerto Princesa
✔️ Direct transfer to Buliluyan Port
✔️ Boat ride straight to Patawan Island
This way, your journey is smooth and hassle-free from Puerto Princesa all the way to paradise. 🌴✨
Yes, it is generally safe to travel to Balabac. The islands are peaceful, the locals are welcoming, and tours are operated by experienced boat crews and guides who prioritize guest safety.
However, because Balabac is a remote destination, there are a few things to keep in mind:
Weather-dependent trips – Boat travel is subject to Coast Guard clearance, and tours may be adjusted or rescheduled during rough seas for your safety.
Limited facilities – Being off-the-beaten-path, medical and convenience facilities are basic, so it’s best to bring personal essentials and any required medication.
Guided travel – For a worry-free experience, it’s highly recommended to join a licensed tour operator who can arrange transfers, permits, and reliable accommodations.
With proper planning and the right guide, Balabac is not only safe—it’s one of the most breathtaking adventures you’ll ever have in Palawan. 🌴✨
